Major: Computer Science and Astrophysics

Research Interest: Using machine learning to better understand quantum physics

I am most looking forward to bonding with my cohort members and participating in undergraduate research.

What attracted you to the CSS program and Carolina?

I was compelled by the research opportunities and the incredibly welcoming and supporting community. I also loved the emphasis on diversity and being able to explore my STEM passions through interdisciplinary research.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing at Carolina over the next four years?

I am most looking forward to bonding with my cohort members and participating in undergraduate research.

What research topic(s) are you interested in exploring and why?

I am interested in exploring the intersection between physics and computer science. I would like to explore both the theoretical and practical relationships between physics and computer science methods and proofs. Specifically, I want to investigate the application of machine learning to help us better understand and prove the mechanisms of quantum physics.

What is one thing you hope to accomplish in your future STEM career?

I hope to get a Ph.D. and immerse myself in meaningful and passionate research that expands our knowledge and capabilities in the field of Physics.
