WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE CSS PROGRAM AND CAROLINA?
I was always interested in Carolina due to its plethora of developmental resources and amazing student life, being selected as a Chancellor’s Science Scholar just solidified my choice. CSS was the epitome of what I wanted to accomplish throughout my undergraduate career, participating in research and advocating for marginalized groups in STEM!
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO EXPERIENCING AT CAROLINA OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS?
I am looking forward to joining a research lab, hopefully in the Center for Health Equity Research, and joining clubs to give back to the Carolina community! I also can’t wait to participate in school spirit events, such as football games.
WHAT RESEARCH TOPIC(S) ARE YOU INTERESTED IN EXPLORING AND WHY?
I’m highly interested in researching racial health disparities/social determinants of health to make health more equitable. There are many disheartening disparities for marginalized groups that I hope my research can help eliminate.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR FUTURE STEM CAREER?
I hope to save lives, whether it be through research or patient care.
