“As a first-generation student at Carolina, the community support that I have found not only on campus but in CSS has helped me adapt to an unknown environment that I never imagined I would become a part of. My interests in STEM have grown from simple curiosity as a child who wanted to understand the natural world, to the specific goal of eventually being able to diminish the gaps that exist in access to healthcare around the world and in our own communities.
