CSS helped to point me towards the right resources and professors so that I could find what I wanted to do.

WHAT attracted you to the CSS program and to Carolina?

I was excited for the number of research opportunities I had at Carolina! CSS is great for that because it helps you get those opportunities, too.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE CSS EXPERIENCE SO FAR?

I really enjoyed going to the CSS Welcome Reception at the beginning of sophomore year and getting to see my cohort in person.

HOW HAS your experience with CSS SHAPED YOUR GOALS and career path?

It helped to point me towards the right resources and professors so that I could find what I wanted to do. They also have a really good support system for people who want to go into Graduate School!

WHAT research topic are you interested in exploring and why?

I’m interested in the interactions between microbes and humans. I’m currently working the Brown Lab and analyzing children’s stool samples for helminths.
