WHY did you decide to join the CSS Program and come to Carolina?
I joined the CSS program to be part of a diverse community where I can be accepted for who I am and to further develop my passions within the STEM field at Carolina.
WHAT are you most looking forward to doing during your undergraduate years?
I look forward to getting to know myself and develop strong connections among my peers. College is the time to focus on your own interests and grow into your own unique person. Throughout my undergraduate years, I hope to not only get to know myself better but to learn and meet new people along the way.
what is a research topic you are interested in exploring?
I am interested in exploring the effects of mental illness and understanding the effects of neurological changes within the brain. I also hope to further investigate the fundamental reasoning behind single gene defects in patients with genetic disorders. By learning how to implement new techniques and technology, I hope to better understand the neurological interactions that could prompt diseases like autism and anterograde amnesia.
WHAT are your future goals?
In the future, I hope to find fulfillment through a career that can help turn our world into a happier and better place.
