WHAT attracted you to the CSS program and to carolina?

CSS’s dedication to uniting individuals that wish to add both knowledge and diversity to the future of STEM drew me to the program.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE CSS EXPERIENCE SO FAR?

Summer EXCELerator was an amazing experience for me, especially during such an isolated time in my life. It was great to meet my fellow Cohort 8 members along with some knowledgeable UNC faculty and to hear about the programs and services that UNC provides to their students.

HOW HAS CSS SHAPED YOUR CAREER GOALS?

CSS has introduced me to a vast network of individuals, connections, and experiences that continue to teach me more about myself and the diverse world of STEM that is growing everyday.

WHAT research topic are you interested in exploring and why?

My primary research is biomedical research or clinical studies, specifically with UNC’s School of Medicine and in their Ophthalmology department. I have previously worked with Innovate Carolina’s Network Database doing statistical analyses on large sets of data over time. I would like to use my background in statistics and computational studies to learn more about glaucoma, ocular epidemiology, and the eye in general.
