I was enticed by the program's commitment to helping scholars get involved in research while on campus and help prepare them for futures involving graduate school and further research.




WHAT DREW YOU TO THE CSS PROGRAM?

One part of the CSS program that drew me in was the possibility to form concrete relationships with a diverse group of people and have a strong support system throughout my time at UNC. I was enticed by the program’s commitment to helping scholars get involved in research while on campus and help prepare them for futures involving graduate school and further research.


WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE CSS EXPERIENCE SO FAR?

My favorite CSS experience so far has been getting to know and connect with my fellow cohort members during both Summer EXCELerator and the beginning of the fall semester. I have been able to form close friendships with many different people from diverse backgrounds.


HOW HAS CSS SHAPED YOUR CAREER GOALS?

My experience with the CSS program so far has helped me to learn about different possible career paths I may want to take and has allowed me to begin setting goals for a future that involves research and STEM.


WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY RESEARCH INTEREST?

Currently, my primary area of research interest lies in the biomedical engineering field, specifically regarding tissue and tendon repairing and healing as well as research in the rehabilitation field.
