WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE CSS PROGRAM AND CAROLINA?

I was attracted to both CSS and Carolina because of the extraordinary research opportunities both offer. Through CSS, I feel as though so many more research opportunities have already been opened to me, even though I am only beginning my first year here at Carolina. Not only were the research opportunities what attracted me, but also the community Carolina and CSS create. Through my time at the Summer Excelerator, I have made such close friends already, setting me up for my first year at Carolina, and the following years I’ll spend here.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO EXPERIENCING AT CAROLINA OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS?

I am most looking forward to becoming immersed into the Carolina culture, joining clubs and making my mark in the Carolina community. I feel as though Carolina puts a lot of emphasis on becoming involved, and I know I will find communities within Carolina that share my beliefs, interests, and hobbies

WHAT RESEARCH TOPIC(S) ARE YOU INTERESTED IN EXPLORING AND WHY?

I am most interested in exploring research topics relating to discovering new exoplanets and what their makeups mean to us here on Earth. By exploring exoplanets, I hope to do research into how they were formed, what their makeups mean to our understanding of the universe, and how exoplanets can change and influence our current scientific knowledge.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR FUTURE STEM CAREER?

In my future STEM career, I hope to discover a new exoplanet residing in our universe, researching its properties and hopefully changing the way we see the universe.
