I have genuine interest in urban design, sustainable materials, implications of microplastics, and identifying source pollutants as an application of improving public health.




What attracted you to the CSS program and Carolina?

Confident in my potential to complete exceptional undergraduate research, apply to graduate programs, and obtain a doctorate on my own, CSS provided resources that would support that transition while establishing an unforgettable community at an institution renowned for its research excellence and collaboration.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing at Carolina over the next four years?

They say that a career requires any diploma, given by any institution; yet, the type of learning, particularly outside the classroom, will vary. I am excited to attend Carolina to learn from the bright minds, unparalleled mindsets, and ambitions cultivated from so many backgrounds shown evident alongside the unique cohort that passes through the CSS each year.

What research topic(s) are you interested in exploring and why?

I am interested in completing research to uncover the inevitable relationship between the environment and rapid urbanization through any interdisciplinary approach. I have genuine interest in urban design, sustainable materials, implications of microplastics, and identifying source pollutants as an application of improving public health.

What is one thing you hope to accomplish in your future STEM career?

I will contribute to the field of science by undertaking and proposing research that will directly benefit my community in combating health disparities within environmental injustice, whether it’s my hometown, my state, or my cohort.
