WHY did you decide to join the CSS Program and come to Carolina?
I decided to join the CSS program and come to Carolina for the amazing research opportunities offered, the support provided, and the strong sense of community. I know I grow more as a scholar and a person when working amongst creative, passionate individuals.
WHAT are you most looking forward to doing during your undergraduate years?
While I hope to dive into scientific research in a lab, I also hope to develop as a person outside of the lab. I am excited to work under mentors and with peers solving questions and challenging myself as a researcher in a lab. Outside of the lab, I want to learn from and engage in my community.
what is a research topic you are interested in exploring?
I am fascinated with DNA, gene expression, and the diseases both infectious and genetic that interact with and affect DNA.
WHAT are your future goals?
I hope to pursue a career in academia and research, specifically in biochemistry.
