Courage, dear heart
Dr. Maribel Borger earned her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Florida State University. She has worked as an instructor teaching chemistry courses at UNC since 2019 with the Chemistry Department and the Science Enrichment Preparation (SEP) program with the North Carolina Health Careers Access Program (NC-HCAP). She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and global studies as a Carolina Covenant Scholar in 2014. Maribel has mentored Carolina Covenant students in addition to serving as a faculty co-director with the Rural Medicine Pathway Program, which helps equip students in the pre-medical school track to increase the number of students from rural NC who matriculate into UNC School of Medicine. As a program coordinator for CSS, she is excited to continue to support high performing students of diverse backgrounds on their pre-PhD track via course advising, identifying internship and job opportunities, mentoring, and helping students navigate through service and leadership opportunities.
