Farewell, Cohort 3!

On May 10, the Chancellor’s Science Scholars Program honored its third cohort and newest group of graduates with a farewell dinner at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. The evening, which kicked off UNC’s Commencement weekend, was filled with laughter and tears as accomplishments were celebrated and memories were shared.

John Atwater, a biology major from Pittsboro, NC, was chosen as the student speaker by his peers. CSS executive director Dr. Thomas Freeman presided over the presentation of CSS honor cords. Other notable guests included Interim Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz, Senior Associate Dean for Research and Innovation Chris Clemens, and former Chancellor Carol Folt.
